Biopathological

ALLERGIOLOGICAL

Through the measurement of eosinophils (a specific type of white blood cells of the immune system) and the measurement of IgE immunoglobulins a check can be done for any allergic reaction in the organism. In the case that there is an allergic reaction, the natural and artificial substances which caused the allergic reaction can be detected through specialized analyses, the Rast tests. By use of the Rast tests the presence of allergic reaction antibodies are detected for each substance separately. These analyses are performed on many different categories of allergens (plants, animals, dusts, food, medicines, etc.), which number over 300.

IMMUNOLOGICAL

The immune system is a remarkably adaptable mechanism, which protects the body from pathogenic microorganisms and diseases such as malignancies. Immunology is a branch of the Medical and Biological Sciences that studies the functions of the immune system under physiological and pathological conditions. In the immunology department, through the continuous evolution and the discovery of new immunobiological indicators, examinations are carried out that lead to the determination of the pathological mechanisms and function of the diseases of the immune system. With the help of modern and automated analyses, even the most specialized immunological tests can be performed immediately, thus providing a leading role in the clinical diagnosis of diseases, such as:

  • Immune deficiencies, e.g. Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), chronic granulomatosis
  • Autoimmune diseases, e.g. systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, myasthenia gravis
  • Hypersensitivity, e.g. allergies and asthma
  • Infectious disease, e.g. hepatitis, HIV, cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection, toxoplasmosis, rubella,
  • Immunoplasias and cancer

NEOPLASM INDICATORS

In the early diagnosis of various forms of cancer, we use neoplasm indicators. It is recommended that they be done on the advice of your doctor while also being evaluated exclusively by him.

HORMONAL

Hormones are chemical compounds produced in a part of the body (eg pituitary gland, thyroid gland, endocrine glands, adrenal glands, etc.) and are transported through the blood to other distant organs or tissues where they act. The hormonal effect takes place at receptors on target cells, where it results in their activation. This activation then leads to changes, such as differentiation in cell growth, function and metabolism. The study of hormones is a key element in health.
